knowledge is power... to have fun. [ forestcovered permissions ]

Where Misha comes from, there are worlds based on every piece of published fiction that has existed in her own home world. These worlds are very real, and yet follow exactly to any information Misha could find on them due to how her connection works — it is because those worlds match the fiction she knows that she can access them in the first place. Please take the time to let me know about how you feel on Misha potentially knowing your character's canon, as long as it has existed before her current canon point (September/November 2012). OCs should answer this too!

Things you should know: Misha is learning not to interfere with the knowledge she has. She does not know all canons, nor will she have heard of every single one. This is more for myself to understand how Misha might react to meeting certain characters rather than give her opportunity to meddle and try to fix things up like in someone's fanfic. That rarely ever works out. Repeat: Misha will only use this knowledge to more intuitively interact with characters. She will NOT break their fourth wall, UNLESS you request it.

Votes must be unanimous between canonmates in order to be a YES; if there is a NO or a MAYBE, then I will respect that player's wishes above others to avoid metagaming. If anyone changes their mind or wishes to discuss it among themselves, feel free to use this post to hammer things out.

If you answer YES, this means that you would not mind Misha having direct access to the canon of this specific character should it come up. If I do not personally know the canon, I will be relying on your application and/or wikias to figure out an approach.
If you answer NO, this means that Misha will have no specific information available in relation to the canon.
If you answer MAYBE, I may come up with a similar-but-not-quite, expy version of the canon in question that parallels it without being immediately recognizable for narrative purposes.
Starred entries indicate where not all members of the canon have chimed in yet.

( CHARACTER INFORMATION )

Name / work name: Misha Hunt / "Pandora"
Canon: What To Do 'Verse (Original)
Canon point: Only a few weeks after returning from the Global Guardians fiasco.
AU/CRAU: OC.
Age: 22.
History. It's gigantic. )

Personality. Also pretty big. )

Debt: Perhaps very predictably, Misha is entering the work force in exchange for the ability to locate her home universe amidst the mass of the interspace. As this will likely not take too much of her life away and the Witch seems powerful and mystically-bullshit enough to actually make it happen, Misha has little to lose in giving it a shot. After all, she still assumes her world-hopping will work even if she can't just fly off the island.

Suitability: As far as Misha is concerned, she made the deal willingly. Because it's something she wants so dearly, she expects to be working for a while with a large payoff — she will be diligent in her tasks, but not without some occasional complaint in order to let off steam. Unless an earthshattering discovery about the Witch's trustworthiness is made, she is content to be a good little worker 'til either her debt is up or something shakes up the contract.

Abilities. )

NOTES: Due to the nature of Misha's canonhopping, I generally give the players of any game she is in the chance to decide if she might know their canon. All posts will be opt-in and one "NO" supersedes any "YES" received. See her permissions tag for plenty of examples. If this is outright not allowed, simply say so and her knowledge will be limited to generalities.

Also, this is ALFRED. Say goodbye to ALFRED until Misha can reclaim him.
ALFRED (A Little, Friendly & Remarkably Efficient Device) is the soft AI built into the arm brace that acts as Misha's computer, cell phone and music player. Its function is served through wireless earphones (with micro receiver) and a frameless visor attached to said earphones that Misha near-constantly wears — either over her eyes to see or up on her head as part of the band. It was programmed by Hank as a means to help Misha master the ins-and-outs of flying via the interface and prescription on her visor, and act as a GPS and communication device. After several months of trial and error, ALFRED contains a program to place, map and identify worlds within the interspace that is essential for Misha to travel free-range between worlds. The smart-headband added shortly after creation to hold her hair back whenever she takes flight is one of her favorite features, despite being relatively low-tech. ALFRED based its pool of responses on the vocabulary Misha has used on it, making him snarky and not very formal as a result. It is not truly capable of learning on its own and, while its range of understanding questions is vast, there are a variety of functions it cannot perform nor does it automatically pick up on tasks it was not programmed to do. Hacking into available satellites to determine date and current atmosphere of the world they've just landed in is a recent, but extremely useful addition. What? There isn't always a convenient newspaper stand just around the corner.
( SAMPLE )

Characterization sample: "ALFRED, what is that reading?"

I believe it says—

"Shut up," Misha interrupted. Rhetorical questions were lost on snarky computer programs. It was a dying art, and one she lost indulgence in whenever it was just her and ALFRED hitting the road. Spaceroad. Okay, fine, the interspace. Whenever she wasn't in New York with the League, it was always just her and ALFRED. Buddy cops except where one is a multiversal vagabond and the other was a souped-up iPod.

She could only hope that didn't actually exist somewhere out there.

"You know what I meant. Anyway, that's a lot of energy. Somebody leave their lights on? I'd hate to see that power bill."

It is the largest signal we've found yet in this interspace. I feel as though I should mention it does not match any readings gleaned from yourself or K'taur during his brief visit to our planet.

Misha slowed her approach to the world. Through the lens of ALFRED's visor, it was practically on fire with the readings. "Does it match anything else?" she asked cautiously. That it didn't match the galactic power meant it was an unnatural object in the interspace. As far as anyone had been able to tell, anyway.

It looks nuclear. Radiation levels are inconsequential; it appears that the atmosphere of the interspace is neutralizing it once it has escaped its containment.

"Which would make explain at least some of the readings, right?" asked Misha quietly. She didn't need to ask why an entire world—containing its own, incredibly real universe—would be bursting at the seams with nuclear energy. It sent horrible chills down her spine, but she didn't need to ask. "ALFRED, mark that world as Do Not Enter: Radiation, You Punk." The view in her visor went momentarily pixelated before reforming with her self-made title emblazoned across the general body of the warring world. With one last look, she moved on and around it with a generous berth.

Her only question was whether it would still be there when she next passed by.

[Name] Misha Hunt
[Age] 22
[Gender] Female
[Appearance] Misha stands at a fairly average 5'4". She keeps her red hair short without going full-out pixie-cut with it, helped by the fact that ALFRED is part headband to keep hair out of the way when flying. After years spent growing and learning with a tag-team of superheroes, Misha has grown quite lean and full of coiled muscle. Her clothing sense errs toward the fashionable, relating more to what she thinks is cute and appealing than top modern fashions (she moves between places too often to make that even close to practical). Most startling of all is the six-pronged, spider-like scarring across her face from when she entered the interspace with a broken nose that nearly pulled her head apart. She generally wears a special type of makeup to cover it up, not because it embarrasses her, but because others tend to be distinctly uncomfortable with such weird scarring right out in the open there.

One more try. That's all I've got left in me. )

Misha will be using a permissions meme to determine viability for knowing any specific canon. Only after receiving a full round of answers from a cast will I definitely assume she knows something (in the case of a YES), otherwise I will always assume MAYBE or NO in order to not make anyone uncomfortable. The point is that she's confident in understanding many tropes of writing fiction and feels exponentially safer for understanding that her life is surrounded by fiction, not necessarily that she knows everyone's canon ever.

DÆMON

Name: Fionntán ("Finn" or "Huck")
Sex: Male
Form: Sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps)
Additional notes: Finn has developed the same survival-based mutations as Misha: resistance to g-forces and lack of vertigo sensation. Since they are the same person, I would really rather Finn not die from exposure to Misha's sheer speed while in flight.
Why this form? This analysis gave me an excellent base to start. Only a few things do not match up with Misha, which I consider enough to be a matter of personal interpretation. Misha is very much the sort of person who can stay engaged with her friends and family, is nosy into the business of others, but has an extremely strong flight reflex (especially in regards to herself, rather than rushing in to help others). Invasion by people she does not know (personally, or because she knows their characters through their fictional escapades) is not appreciated and she can become territorial as mentioned. Essentially, she is a ball of energy with a quick wit, healthy sense of skepticism and a strong personal bubble.

Also, you know. Glider. Flying. Sense of freedom and safety from the ability to move in ways that others can't. That helps.

"Fionntán" is based off her adaptability and the way she has sort of appointed herself as the keeper of knowledge in relation to her own world. It's ~symbolic~, you guys.
